Project Update Presentations

Overview

In today's session, you will be asked to give a team-based overview of the status of your project.

As discussed in class on Wednesday, today's session will serve as a status update for each of the team projects. Each team will be asked to give a 7-8 minute progress report on your particular topic.

Your presentation should focus on the following:

1. Give an overview of the primary issue that you are researching (1 minute)

2. Science / technical aspects (3-4 minutes)

Describe your strategies for uncovering information about the science
List 2-4 main points that you have found up to now

3. Communicating science (2-3 minutes)

Describe your strategies for assessing the methods that scientists and others having expertise have used to communicate their findings to the public
Provide an overview of those methods that have been used

4. Impact on the public (1-2 minutes)

Describe your strategies for assessing the degree to which the public has successfully learned about the topic.
Provide any commentary that you might wish to make about the public's actual reaction to the topic.
