Images from Nuangola Bog
Description
Nuangola bog is a scrub-shrub wetland that occupies approximately
ten acres along the southern end of Lake Nuangola, in northern
Luzerne County. The parcel is owned by Wilkes University, and is
overseen by the Nature Conservancy and residents of Nuangola Boro.
Access through the bog is facilitated by boardwalks and a
footbridge.

- The north boardwalk
This image shows the northern boardwalk, looking to the west. The
footbridge is approximately 80' from the location of the picture.
The wetland vegetation can be observed on both sides of the
boardwalk. Dominant species at this location include leatherleaf
and cranberry.
- The west boardwalk
This image shows the west boardwalk, looking to the south. The
dominant species at this location include meadowsweet (Spiraea
latifolia) and alder (Alnus rugosa).
